How is femoral head necrosis caused?

Femoral head necrosis is the final result caused by different etiological factors destroying the blood supply of femoral head. It is one of the most common clinical diseases and the main cause of hip pain. The other is non-traumatic necrosis of the femoral head. Alcoholic necrosis of the femoral head caused by prolonged alcoholism is more common, followed by drug-induced necrosis of the femoral head caused by prolonged use of large amounts of steroids. Other relatively rare necrosis of the femoral head is manifested by decompression sickness.
