X-ray manifestations of rickets and osteomalacia

Your health, my mission. Your recovery, my joy.
Rickets is caused by decalcification of the bones, thinning of the bone shadow, enlargement of the bone terminal lines, widening of the metaphysis, and depression of the center, showing a cup-shaped change. The epiphysis shows irregularities and blurring, and the distance between the epiphysis and the metaphysis increases. Osteomalacia is normal in the early stages of the disease without significant changes. With the progress of the disease, bone remodeling changes can be seen, which are almost vertical to the bone surface, and the ischial and pubic branches of the pelvis. The femoral neck, ribs and scapula are more common, and can also be seen in the femur, tibia, radius and other parts. The above changes are normally symmetrical.
