Does mitral insufficiency cause heart murmur?

Guiding you to a healthier tomorrow.
Mitral valve insufficiency generally causes heart murs.
Mitral valve insufficiency is a heart valve disease characterized by the failure of the mitral valve to close completely during systole, causing blood to flow back into the left atrium during ventricular systole. In this condition, changes in pressure and flow of blood during ventricular systole can cause heart murs. Common causes of mitral valve insufficiency include rheumatic fever, ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and senile degenerative disease. Mild mitral insufficiency may be asymptomatic, while severe patients may experience palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, etc.
Patients with mitral insufficiency need appropriate treatment depending on the symptoms and severity of the condition.
