Can vinegar treat onychomycosis

onychomycosis is medically known as onychomycosis. It is caused by fungal infection of the nail deck and the tissue under the nail. It is more common in people with fungal infections such as beriberi. Vinegar contains acetic acid, acetic acid has a certain bactericidal effect, but vinegar contains very little acetic acid, and can only kill fungi on the nail surface. Therefore, vinegar cannot treat onychomycosis. onychomycosis can be treated with topical drugs and oral antifungal drugs. Topical drugs such as 3%-5% iodine tincture, or 5% amorolfine liniment, topical twice a day, fingernails need 3-6 months, toenails need 6-12 months. If the effect of topical antifungal drugs alone is not good, oral antifungal drugs such as itraconazole capsules, terbinafine hydrochloride tablets can be treated.
