Blood tests can detect ectopic pregnancy?

Blood tests cannot detect ectopic pregnancy. Ordinary blood routine tests or serum human chorionic gonadotropin tests cannot be used for the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. Human chorionic gonadotropin tests can only determine whether pregnancy is occurring because human chorionic gonadotropin levels in early pregnancy are low. It is impossible to distinguish between normal pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy, so a B-ultrasound is needed to confirm the diagnosis.
