What are the diagnostic criteria for neonatal hypothyroidism?

Hypothyroidism is also called congenital hypothyroidism. It is a disease caused by congenital absence of thyroid gland or ectopic hypoplasia of thyroid gland. Diagnostic criteria are skeletal abnormalities, enlarged anterior and posterior fontanel, and widened cranial suture. Physiological jaundice lasts for a long time, muscle tone is low, and lethargy. Hypothyroidism examination results can reveal increased thyroid stimulating hormone and decreased free thyroid hormone.
