If a woman is diagnosed with cervical cancer, she may be referred to colposcopy for an acetate test. If the acetate test is thick and regresses slowly, a colposcopic cervical biopsy is required. If the acetate test is thin and regresses quickly, a biopsy is not required. A temporary observation period of three months to six months may be given, and cervical cancer screening, i.e., TCT and HPV, may be performed again. Therefore, atypical squamous epithelial cells are shown. Even if HPV is negative, it is recommended to refer to colposcopy. If there is abnormality under colposcopy, cervical biopsy should be performed as soon as possible for definite diagnosis and timely treatment.
