What kind of woman is prone to uterine fibroids

Uterine myoma is the most common benign tumor in female reproductive system. Its exact etiology is not yet clear. Because myoma occurs in reproductive period, rarely before puberty, atrophy or regression after menopause, it suggests that its occurrence may be related to female hormones. The local estrogen receptor concentration in myoma tissue is significantly higher than that in peripheral muscle tissue, so it is considered that the high sensitivity of myoma tissue to estrogen is one of the important factors for myoma occurrence. However, it is not possible to conclude which kind of women are prone to uterine myoma.
