What kind of disease is myocardial bridge?

Restoring health, one step at a time.
Myocardial bridge is a congenital cardiovascular disease characterized by a segment of coronary artery blood vessels covered by the myocardium, forming a bridge-like structure. When the heart contracts, this segment of myocardium compresses this segment of coronary artery blood vessels, thus affecting its blood flow.
Myocardial bridge refers to a segment of coronary artery blood vessels running in the myocardium, covered by the myocardium, forming a bridge-like structure. It usually occurs in coronary artery branches such as the anterior descending branch or the circumflex branch of the heart. Myocardial bridge compresses coronary artery blood vessels during contraction of the heart, resulting in obstruction of blood flow, thus affecting blood supply and oxygen supply to the myocardium. In severe cases, this may lead to cardiovascular problems such as angina pectoris and myocardial infarction.
For patients with more severe symptoms, medical treatment or surgery may be required to reduce the compression of coronary artery blood vessels by myocardial bridge and improve blood supply and oxygen supply to the heart.
