Tricuspid microregurgitation is a phenomenon in which the tricuspid valve fails to close completely during systole, resulting in backflow of blood from the right ventricle back to the right atrium.
Tricuspid microregurgitation is mainly caused by physiological factors such as aging, obesity, exercise, or disease factors such as hypertension and coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Tricuspid microregurgitation does not cause obvious symptoms, but long-term regurgitation may cause enlargement of the right atrium and right ventricle, thus affecting normal heart function.
