How does fetal lateral ventricle widen?

Healing with compassion, caring with purpose.
Fetal lateral ventricle widening occurs from time to time. Generally, widening less than 10mm is considered normal. No further treatment is required. Regular follow-up observation is OK. Widening more than 15mm is diagnosed as hydrocephalus. The reason for widening is unclear when it is between 10-15mm, and regular observation is needed. Lateral ventricle widening is sometimes the majority of which cannot be found, and has no special effect on children unless it causes obvious compression on brain parenchyma. Ventricular widening is sometimes associated with specific viral infections, such as cytomegalovirus, rubella virus, etc. Ventricular widening is also sometimes a manifestation of fetal chromosomal abnormalities. In addition to ventricular widening, there are often other abnormalities such as nasal bone loss. If necessary, fetal chromosome examination should be done.
