Mitral valve closure is caused by heart failure.

Guiding you towards wellness.
The causes of mitral valve insufficiency include congenital malformations, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, left ventricular enlargement, etc.
1. Congenital malformations
Congenital malformations include endocardial cushion defects often combined with mitral valve anterior leaflet cleft, due to the valve leaflets do not coapt with each other, resulting in mitral valve insufficiency.
2. Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease
Patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, due to the disease involving papillary muscle and its adjacent ventricular wall myocardium, leading to papillary muscle fibrosis and dysfunction, resulting in mitral valve insufficiency.
3. Left ventricular
enlargement caused by any disease, such as hypertension, long-term myocardial ischemia, etc., may lead to mitral valve ring dilatation and papillary muscle lateral shift, thus affecting the closure of the valve leaflets, resulting in mitral valve insufficiency.
