A choroid plexus cyst is a cystic structure found in the ventricle by ultrasound. Most choroid plexus cysts are physiological and disappear at about 26 weeks. However, if they do not disappear over 26 weeks, consider whether there is fetal hydrocephalus. Choroid plexus cysts may be associated with chromosomal abnormalities, so it is recommended to do non-invasive DNA or amniotic fluid puncture to rule out chromosomal abnormalities. If there are no chromosomal abnormalities, ultrasound can be repeated every 2-4 weeks, and if necessary, a fetal head MRI can be performed to understand intracranial development.
