Why does cough leak urine in late pregnancy

Cough and urine leakage in the third trimester of pregnancy is a symptom of stress urinary incontinence, which is caused by the relaxation of pelvic floor muscles of women due to increased abdominal pressure of uterus in the third trimester of pregnancy. Because cough will lead to increased pressure of pelvic floor muscles and detrusor muscles, urine leakage will be caused. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and will naturally improve after delivery.
