Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and indomethacin can be used to close the ductus arteriosus in premature infants, children and adults, but nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are not suitable for full-term infants, children and adults with patent ductus arteriosus.
