Causes of fetal atrial septal herniation

The main cause of fetal atrial septal aneurysm is congenital cardiac tissue development abnormality resulting in atrial septal weakness. Due to cardiac load factors, atrial septal tissue bulges to the low pressure side, forming a balloon-like bulge, but this disease is not a tumor.

No complications usually cause clinical symptoms. If complications cause, active treatment after birth is required.

Fetal atrial septal aneurysm is usually detected during ultrasound examination during pregnancy, and most do not affect the normal development of the fetus. Follow-up observation can be performed.
