Does cardiac arrest recur?

If cardiac arrest is

caused by cardiogenic factors, it may recur after treatment due to poor control or incomplete cure of the primary disease. However, if cardiac arrest is caused by non-cardiogenic factors, such as drug poisoning, airway obstruction or electric shock, it will rarely recur after exposure to the cause.

It is recommended that patients should identify the cause and treat the cause, while staying away from related risk factors to reduce the recurrence rate of cardiac arrest.
