Coronary heart disease (CHD)

is a heart disease caused by stenosis or occlusion of coronary arteries. It includes chronic coronary disease (CHD), including stable angina, ischemic cardiomyopathy and latent CHD, and acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including unstable angina, non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. Angina is only one type of CHD, which is caused by imbalance of blood supply to the heart. The fundamental difference between the two diseases is that coronary heart disease is more widespread.
