Is molluscum contagiosum contagious?

Molluscum contagiosum is contagious, usually through direct contact and infection, but also through self-inoculation, most patients are generally in public bathrooms or swimming pools infected, a few patients can also be infected through sexual contact. Molluscum contagiosum is an epidermal infectious disease caused by infection with molluscum contagiosum virus. The lesions are characterized by small waxy papules visible on the skin, with sunken tips that can squeeze out cheese-like molluscum bodies. Most of them occur in children and young people. The incubation period of molluscum contagiosum is 14-50 days. Treatment can be directly removed with small tweezers, then applied with 2% iodine and pressure to stop bleeding, or directly scraped with acne needle, or burned with carbon dioxide electricity.
