Sperm DFI and HDS Normal Values

Your well-being is my top priority.
Sperm DFI The normal value of DNA fragmentation index should be less than 15%, while HDS
1. Sperm DFI
DFI is an indicator of sperm DNA fragmentation. DNA fragmentation may affect sperm fertilization ability and embryo development. Higher DFI values may be related to male infertility, repeated abortion and other problems. Under normal circumstances, DFI should be less than 15%, indicating that sperm DNA integrity is better.
2. Sperm HDS
refers to the ratio of sperm head deformity. Abnormal sperm head may affect sperm swimming ability and fertilization ability. Generally speaking, HDS should be less than 96%, meaning that most sperm head morphology is normal.
Sperm DFI and HDS testing can provide information about sperm quality and is important for assessing male fertility and diagnosing possible reproductive system problems. Abnormal DFI or HDS values may indicate the presence of varicocele, epididymitis, orchitis, lifestyle factors (e.g. smoking, alcohol abuse, high temperature environment).
If the test results show abnormal DFI or HDS, the doctor may perform additional tests to determine the underlying cause.
