Difference between CIN3 and carcinoma in situ

CIN3 and carcinoma in situ are not significantly different in nature. From the following aspects:

1. Definition

CIN3 is cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 3, which is the severe stage of cervical precancerous lesions, indicating that atypical cells almost or all involve the epithelial layer; carcinoma in situ refers to atypical cells in all epithelial layers, but do not break through the basement membrane. In cervical lesions, CIN3 is basically equivalent to carcinoma in situ.

2. The degree of lesion

both reflect a high degree of epithelial abnormality, and the degree of cell dysplasia and atypical hyperplasia is relatively serious.

3. Clinical significance

indicates that the lesion is at a critical node, which requires high attention and active treatment to prevent further development into invasive carcinoma. If not treated in time, the risk of invasive carcinoma is higher.

4. Treatment methods

usually require more aggressive treatment measures, such as surgical resection, to remove the diseased tissue and reduce the risk of cancer.
