Diabetes in pregnant women

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Diabetes mellitus in pregnant women is extremely harmful, including increased risk of infection, macrosomia, neonatal hypoglycemia, etc.
1. Increased risk of infection in pregnant women
Diabetes mellitus in pregnant women increases the risk of infection during pregnancy, such as urinary tract infection, vulvovaginal candidiasis, etc., and is easy to cause pregnancy hypertension, which can be life-threatening in severe cases.
2. Macrosomia
diabetes may cause fetal overgrowth, leading to macrosomia, increasing the probability of dystocia and cesarean section. It may also cause fetal growth restriction and affect fetal development.
3. Neonatal hypoglycemia is
prone to hypoglycemia after birth. Severe hypoglycemia may cause irreversible damage to the newborn brain. Hyperbilirubinemia and neonatal respiratory distress syndrome may also occur, threatening the health and safety of newborns.
