Treatment of acute conjunctivitis

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Acute conjunctivitis refers to conjunctivitis with a course of less than one month. Conjunctivitis is inflammation that occurs on the surface of the white eyeball of the eye. It is normally caused by not paying attention to eye hygiene, such as rubbing eyes with dirty hands, wiping eyes with contaminated towels, paper towels, wet wipes, etc., or swimming in swimming pools, ponds, rivers and lakes that do not meet the standards. Therefore, pathogens pollute the eyes and cause infection. The main manifestation is that part of the white eyeball of the eye is bloodshot and red. There are many secretions in the eyes, which can be white, yellow or transparent. Conjunctivitis is divided into bacterial conjunctivitis and viral conjunctivitis according to different pathogens of infection. Antibiotic eye drops are needed in the acute stage. For example, for bacterial conjunctivitis, ofloxacin eye drops, chloramphenicol eye drops or tobramycin eye drops are needed for treatment. For viral conjunctivitis, anti-viral eye drops need to be used, such as ganciclovir eye drops, acyclovir eye drops, interferon eye drops, etc. After regular treatment and infection control, conjunctivitis can be cured. If acute conjunctivitis is not treated in time at this stage, chronic conjunctivitis may be formed. This situation is treated slowly, so it must be treated in time.
