What causes reflux gastritis?

Guiding you to a healthier tomorrow.
Bile reflux gastritis is mainly caused by pyloric dysfunction, delayed gastric emptying, biliary diseases, bad living habits, stomach surgery and other reasons. 1. pyloric dysfunction pyloric is the site where the stomach connects with the duodenum. If pyloric sphincter function is impaired, such as relaxation or incomplete closure, it is easy to cause bile reflux in the duodenum into the stomach. Under normal circumstances, pyloric sphincter can effectively prevent bile reflux, but when its function is abnormal, this barrier effect is weakened, allowing bile to reflux. 2. Delayed gastric emptying When gastric motility is weakened, gastric contents including food cannot be discharged into the intestine in time and effectively, which will increase the chance of bile reflux. Some factors such as gastrointestinal motility deficiency, stomach surgery, etc. may cause delayed gastric emptying, thus creating conditions for bile reflux. 3. Biliary diseases When suffering from biliary diseases such as cholecystitis and gallstones, the secretion and excretion of bile may be affected, and bile reflux is prone to occur. Abnormal bile secretion or poor excretion may lead to increased pressure of bile reflux, and then back into the stomach. 4. Bad living habits Long-term smoking, drinking, excessive eating of greasy food, irritating food and other bad eating habits, as well as mental stress, irregular work and rest, etc., may affect gastrointestinal function, induce bile reflux gastritis. The above bad habits may interfere with the normal motility and functional regulation of the gastrointestinal tract, making the stomach more vulnerable to bile reflux damage. 5. Partial gastrectomy or gastroenterostomy after gastric surgery destroys the normal pyloric structure and function, easily leading to bile reflux gastritis. Surgery alters the anatomy and physiology of the stomach, significantly increasing the risk of bile reflux.
