How many years can cataract replace lens?

Cataract surgery is a very common operation in ophthalmology at this stage. The principle of this operation is to remove the turbid lens and replace it with a transparent intraocular lens. This intraocular lens is essentially a plastic component, but it is a very advanced plastic. The stability of this material is very good. It shows little or no degeneration or change. Therefore, this lens can be used for life as long as no serious eye trauma causes lens dislocation. The lens does not need to be replaced. If the eye has cataracts and surgery is indicated, surgery may be considered. The most common surgical method at this stage is cataract phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation.
