Cornea is the transparent part of the front of the eyeball, through which light enters the eyeball. Cornea is slightly oval, slightly convex, about 1mm thick around, and 0.6 mm in the center. Cornea thickness is natural. Cornea is divided into five layers: the first layer is epithelial cell layer, the second layer is anterior elastic layer, the third layer is substantial layer, the fourth layer is posterior elastic layer, and the fifth layer is endothelial cell layer. If a patient wants laser surgery, he or she needs to go to the hospital for a comprehensive eye exam to determine whether the surgery is possible, because the recovery ability of the cornea decreases with age.
