Open angle glaucoma and closed angle glaucoma

Open angle glaucoma and angle closure glaucoma are two major types of glaucoma, pathogenesis and symptoms, treatment are very different, in terms of pathogenesis, open angle glaucoma is aqueous humor outflow, angle position is open, but aqueous humor discharge process is not smooth, angle closure glaucoma refers to the angle position is closed, normal is blocked by the iris, resulting in aqueous humor can not flow into the aqueous humor outflow pipeline. The treatment of angle-closure glaucoma is mainly to open the angle of the chamber. After returning to opening, the outflow function of aqueous humor will return to normal, while open-angle glaucoma is mainly due to high internal resistance of the pipeline and poor outflow of aqueous humor. Therefore, the treatment is mainly to increase waterproof outflow through drugs. If necessary, anti-glaucoma surgery can be done to increase an external channel to enable aqueous humor to flow out and maintain normal intraocular pressure.
