Building bridges to better health.
Chickenpox and herpes are different.
Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by the initial infection of chickenpox-herpes zoster virus. It mainly occurs in infants and preschool children. The symptoms of adults are more serious than those of children. Chickenpox is highly infectious. The main route of transmission is respiratory droplets or direct contact infection. The rash is distributed concentrically, first appearing on the trunk and head, and gradually extending to the face and limbs. The rash on the trunk is most frequent and dense. After the disease, there will be a specific process of eruption, starting with pink spots, quickly changing into round nervous blisters of grain to pea size, surrounded by obvious redness, with blisters in the center of the umbilicus; usually accompanied by fever and other systemic symptoms.
Herpes is a form of rash, there are many types, in addition to varicella-herpes zoster virus can cause, herpes simplex virus and other viruses and some non-viral factors can also cause. Herpes caused by herpes simplex virus is often divided into genital herpes, cold sores and so on. It differs from chickenpox in that herpes labialis occurs primarily around the lips and appears as a cluster of small blisters.
chickenpox is a disease caused by a specific virus with specific manifestations and epidemiological characteristics, while herpes is a broader concept of rash manifestations that includes skin lesions with blistering characteristics caused by a variety of causes. They are different in etiology and clinical manifestation, so they should not be confused simply.
