Central serous retinitis is a self-limiting disease that occurs in young men. Most patients with central serous retinitis recover spontaneously without symptoms. A few patients show macular leakage, subretinal fluid, and local scarring after edema subsides. The prognosis for central serous retinitis is good and patients can be treated with drugs or lasers.
