Difference between hyperopia and amblyopia

Healing hearts, one patient at a time.
Hyperopia and amblyopia are two completely different concepts. First of all, we should understand what is hyperopia and what is amblyopia. Hyperopia is a type of refractive error. Hyperopia refers to when the eye accommodation is relaxed, parallel light is focused on the retina after passing through the refractive system of the eye. Generally speaking, if corrected, hyperopia can achieve the best corrected vision. Amblyopia refers to the loss of best corrected vision in one eye or both eyes due to abnormal visual experience during visual development, such as monocular strabismus, anisometropia, high refractive error and form deprivation. There is no organic disease in eye examination. Amblyopia can be caused by high hyperopia. The main difference between hyperopia and amblyopia is that hyperopia can achieve the best corrected vision after correction or treatment, but amblyopia cannot achieve the best corrected vision.
