What does low breast echo mean?

Hypoechoic breast is defined as an area that is less echogenic than surrounding normal breast tissue on ultrasound examination of the breast. Hypoechoic breast may indicate a breast mass. When substantial abnormal structures appear in the breast, ultrasound shows hypoechoic. This does not necessarily mean malignant tumor. Benign lesions such as breast fibroadenoma and breast adenosis may also show hypoechoic. In addition to simple hypoechoic appearance, it is necessary to comprehensively analyze the boundary, shape, aspect ratio, internal echo uniformity, presence or absence of calcification points and blood flow signals of the tumor.
