A small amount of pleural effusion may be physiological and may not be treated. However, when the effusion exceeds 200ml, puncture operation is required to extract the effusion. When the effusion exceeds the hilar level, puncture catheter shall be continuously retained for drainage. Appropriate treatment method shall be selected according to the own situation.
