The difference between smallpox and chickenpox is as follows: 1. The virus caused by smallpox is different. Smallpox virus is caused by inhalation of droplets or direct contact; chickenpox is caused by varicella-herpes zoster virus infection through respiratory tract or contact. 2. Different symptoms are manifested.
