How to treat renal hamartoma

Guiding you towards wellness.
Renal hamartoma diameter less than 4 cm, there is no obvious discomfort symptoms, observation and treatment; when the volume increases, there is compression of surrounding tissues, surgery is required.
Renal hamartoma is a benign tumor, usually diagnosed by color Doppler CT or MRI. For those with a diameter less than 4 cm and no obvious discomfort symptoms, special treatment is not required, observation can be made, but regular review is required.
When the volume increases, compression of surrounding tissues is required. The commonly used treatment methods include renal artery embolization, nephron-sparing surgery and nephrectomy. Most renal hamartoma surgery is now performed under laparoscopy, and robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery can be performed in large hospitals.
Renal hamartoma generally does not cause cancer, but if the tumor ruptures, it is easy to cause massive bleeding shock, and the prognosis is poor, so surgery is indicated as early as possible.
