How do I check myself for NPC? Patients can only make an initial diagnosis based on their subjective symptoms. Typical NPC include repeated sucking, nosebleeds or sputum flow, progressive nasal congestion, unilateral headache, or unilateral tinnitus and ear asphyxia, or even a lump on one side of the neck. The final diagnosis still requires an ENT visit, at least an electronic nasopharynx examination. If suspicious lumps are found in the nasopharynx, a biopsy can be performed to confirm the diagnosis.
