Symptoms of oropharyngeal cancer

Oropharyngeal cancer originating from tonsil area is the most common, accounting for about 60% of oropharyngeal cancer; followed by tongue cancer, accounting for about 25%, and cancer occurring in soft palate area accounts for about 15%. Oropharyngeal cancer pathology is most common with squamous cell carcinoma. Early oropharyngeal cancer can show the following clinical manifestations: foreign body sensation in oropharynx, pain in pharynx, oropharyngeal mass. In the late stage, it can show swollen neck lymph nodes, and even large masses can show dysphagia, breathing difficulties, mouth opening difficulties, and inability to speak. In addition, in the late stage, due to malnutrition, it can show fatigue, anemia, etc. If there is metastasis, it can also show corresponding metastatic symptoms. Generally speaking, the main symptoms of early oropharyngeal cancer are foreign body sensation and throat pain. If this symptom is shown, it needs to be confirmed by laryngoscopy.
