Is nodular goiter cancer?

Building bridges to better health.
Nodular goiter is not necessarily cancer, most nodules are benign adenomatous nodules or cysts, but 5%-10% of thyroid nodules are malignant. Risk factors suggesting nodules are thyroid cancer include: 1. childhood; 2. adult age less than 30 years or older than 60 years; 3. male; 4. history of head and neck radiation exposure or radioactive dust exposure in childhood; 5. history of whole body radiation therapy; VI. Family history of thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine adenomatosis type 2; VII. Rapid enlargement of nodules; VIII. Persistent hoarseness, dysphonia, dysphagia and dyspnea; IX. Irregular, hard and fixed nodules; X. Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, etc., need to be further clarified whether it is thyroid cancer.
