CT plays an important role in the diagnosis of lung cancer. Lung cancer patients show soft tissue masses or pulmonary nodules on CT, but small pulmonary nodules are not necessarily tumors. Many benign lung lesions, such as chronic inflammation, pulmonary tuberculosis, inflammatory pseudotumor, etc., can be manifested as small pulmonary nodules. Therefore, small pulmonary nodules are not necessarily tumors, but may also be other benign lesions, requiring further PET-CT or percutaneous lung biopsy to assist in diagnosis.
