Is cough white foam sputum lung cancer

Cough white foamy sputum is produced by foam cells in the airway mucosa. It may be physiological or pathological. Physiological frothy sputum is produced by cold stimulation, and pathological frothy sputum is mainly caused by inflammation, such as bronchitis. Therefore, cough white foamy sputum does not indicate lung cancer. Patients need to undergo pathological examinations such as chest ct scan or bronchoscopy to confirm the diagnosis.
