What is ampullary cancer?

Ampullary cancer is a cancer that occurs in the duodenum after the confluence of bile duct and pancreatic duct. Ampullary cancer refers to a malignant tumor that occurs in this enlarged area. This site is special. It is located at a key gate area where bile and pancreatic juice enter the duodenum after confluence. once a malignant tumor grows in this place, it will prevent bile and pancreatic juice from entering the duodenum normally. The patient will show a series of typical obstructive jaundice.
