Cervical smear is not TCT.

Cervical smear is a cytological examination of cervical exfoliation. It is to scrape cells from the surface of the cervix, then fix, stain, etc., and observe whether there are abnormal cells under the microscope, so as to rule out precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. TCT is a liquid-based thin-layer cytological examination. It uses a special sampling brush to sample cells from the cervical surface, and puts the cell specimen on the slide for preparation and staining. After microscopic examination, the cell morphology and structural characteristics can be observed, so as to judge whether there are cervical precancerous lesions and cervical cancer.

Although both are through brushing cervical exfoliated cells to judge whether there are abnormal cells and exclude cervical precancerous lesions or cervical cancer, they belong to different detection methods, and TCT detection has high sensitivity and specificity.
