What is gastric stromal tumor?

Dedicated to healing, always.
Stomach stromal tumor refers to leiomyoma occurring in the bottom of the stomach. Stromal tumor used to be called leiomyoma. At present, it is a separate pathological type. Stromal tumor is divided into benign and malignant, and the specific difference between benign and malignant is judged according to the mitotic image of tumor cells in the mass seen pathologically after surgery. After specific surgery, there is a risk classification according to mitotic image and tumor size. After surgery, if it is low-risk, it does not need follow-up other treatment. If it is moderately dangerous or high-risk, it is necessary to take targeted therapeutic drugs for 2 to 3 years after surgery to reduce the risk of postoperative recurrence.
