HPV testing
is one of the most important means of cervical cancer screening. HPV testing helps doctors determine whether there is a risk of cervical cancer. HPV is divided into multiple types, each type has different pathogenicity and carcinogenicity. According to its carcinogenicity, HPV is divided into high-risk and low-risk types. High-risk HPV types include 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 61, etc., which are closely related to the occurrence of cervical cancer. Low-risk HPV types mainly include types 6, 11, 42, 43, 44, etc., which mainly cause benign lesions such as genital warts and common warts. When HPV test is performed, the above 13-15 high-risk types and 2 low-risk types are usually detected.
When interpreting HPV test results, it is necessary to combine other test results and clinical conditions to make a comprehensive judgment.
