Why do people have gout?

Hyperuricemia is the basis of gout. It is related to factors such as excessive uric acid production, decreased uric acid excretion and purine metabolism-related enzyme deficiency. The details are as follows:

1. Decreased uric acid excretion

Most gout is caused by uric acid excretion disorders. Generally, it is related to increased PRPP synthase activity and decreased renal uric acid clearance function.

2. Excessive uric acid production. A

small part of gout is related to excessive uric acid production. Common causes include glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and increased nucleic acid conversion.

3. Purine metabolism-related enzyme deficiency

patients may also cause gout due to increased PRPP synthase activity or partial or total deficiency of HGPRT.
