Why do young people get gout?

Building a healthier future, together.
Gout in young people may be caused by genetic diseases, chronic kidney disease, purine metabolism-related enzyme deficiency and other reasons.
1. Genetic diseases
such as Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, glycogen storage disease type I and other genetic diseases can lead to abnormal uric acid metabolism in the body, resulting in increased blood uric acid levels, causing gout.
2. Chronic kidney disease
uric acid can be metabolized by the kidneys. Chronic glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy and other chronic kidney diseases can lead to decreased uric acid excretion in the glomeruli, resulting in increased uric acid levels in the blood, causing gout.
3. Purine metabolism-related enzyme deficiency
Purine metabolites in the human body are uric acid. If the patient has purine metabolism-related enzyme deficiency, it will lead to excessive uric acid production after purine metabolism, causing gout.
