Acute pharyngitis is
an acute inflammation that occurs in the pharyngeal mucosa and surrounding tissues. It is a relatively common upper respiratory tract infectious disease. In most cases, it is caused by bacteria, viruses or environmental factors that stimulate the pharyngeal mucosa, resulting in swelling and congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa. If it is caused by bacterial and viral infection, acute pharyngitis is generally infectious due to the infectivity of these pathogenic bacteria, and the main transmission route is respiratory droplet transmission and close contact transmission. If acute pharyngitis caused by external environmental factors stimulating pharynx, such as dryness, dust, smoke, harmful gases, etc., it is not infectious.
