Acute iridocyclitis is different from pink eye.
Acute iridocyclitis is caused by inflammation of the iris involving the ciliary body. It is not related to systemic inflammatory diseases, autoimmune factors, trauma and physical and chemical damage, infection and genetic factors. Red eye is caused by bacterial infection, mostly caused by direct or indirect contact with pathogens. Common pathogens are pneumococcus, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphylococcus aureus, etc. To sum up, acute iridocyclitis and pink eye belong to two completely different diseases.
