Treatment of breast cysts

Breast cyst treatment methods include observation follow-up, puncture aspiration, surgical treatment, etc.

1. Observation follow-up

For small and asymptomatic breast cysts, it is usually possible to choose regular breast ultrasound examination to observe their changes. This is because many simple breast cysts may disappear on their own, especially after menopause. Close observation can detect possible abnormal changes in time to take further measures.

2. Puncture aspiration

If the cyst is large and causes pain or discomfort, or the patient has great psychological pressure, puncture aspiration can be considered. The cyst fluid can be aspirated by a fine needle, which can quickly relieve symptoms. However, it should be noted that there is a certain possibility of recurrence after puncture aspiration.

3. Surgical treatment

In some special cases, such as recurrent cysts, thickening of the cyst wall, atypical hyperplasia or malignant risk, surgery may be required. Surgery can clarify the pathological diagnosis, completely remove the lesion, and reduce the risk of malignant transformation.
