Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is usually not cancer.
Cancer refers to malignant tumor, including carcinoma, sarcoma and carcinosarcoma. It is caused by malignant proliferation of cells. It is invasive and metastatic. Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is mostly composed of dense connective tissue, a large number of elastic fibers and blood vessels. Although the tumor can invade adjacent organs and repeatedly bleed and endanger life, it is a benign tumor. The tumor grows slowly and does not metastasize to lymph nodes or distant organs. In most cases, malignant transformation does not occur, and can be cured by surgical treatment.
