Retinal detachment treatment

Retinal detachment can be divided into primary retinal detachment and secondary retinal detachment according to the etiology. Primary retinal detachment often occurs in patients with high myopia and eye trauma. Retinal tears cause retinal detachment, also known as rhegmatogenous retinal detachment; secondary retinal detachment can be divided into exudative retinal detachment, traction retinal detachment and neoplastic retinal detachment according to the etiology. Primary retinal detachment should be treated by surgery as soon as possible, with the goal of closing the tear and resetting the retina. Secondary retinal detachment should be treated according to various primary diseases, such as exudative retinal detachment, which can reset itself after the primary cause disappears, and traction retinal detachment needs surgery.
